Rebecca Belliston loves books and music. Even more, she loves to write both. As an author, she writes clean romances with heart-pounding suspense. She also composes religious and classical-style music. When she’s not writing, she loves tennis, graphic design, and cuddling up with a good book—usually not at the same time. She and her husband have five children and live in the beautiful state of Michigan.

Welcome to my little corner of the world! I love a lot of things--especially to write. I've been surrounded by books and music since childhood because of my awesome parents (Gerald & Lynn Lund). A native of Utah, I started playing piano before I can remember and was composing songs about rainbows and purple unicorns by elementary school. In high school, I taught my first piano lesson, sang in choir, took guitar lessons, and basically fell in love with music in every form. In college, I took classes in music theory, orchestration, and sound engineering, giving me a greater appreciation for the mechanics of music. At that time, I also fell head over heels for another music nerd and agreed to follow him to the ends of the earth, which meant moving to the distant land of Michigan.
I've spent countless hours composing classical-style songs, arranging hymns, teaching piano, and pounding out Beethoven Sonatas. I've accompanied or directed church choirs for most of my adult life. You could say that I live, breathe, and eat music (minus the eating part). And yet . . . in 2008, I decided one random morning to write down a story that had been stuck in my head for months. Three weeks later, I had the first draft of a novel, and I was in love with creating fictional stories and characters. Now I read everything, analyze movie plots to the annoyance of my family, and jot down book ideas on random grocery lists. To me, the best stories include a great love story, so I write romances (clean romances) with heart-pounding suspense.
My first novel, Sadie, is a contemporary Christian romantic suspense novel published by Deseret Book on 11-11-11 and spent three months on their bestselling fiction list. The sequel, Augustina, was released in August '13. My dystopian trilogy, Citizens of Logan Pond, came next, and my latest novel, Heart of Red, Blood of Blue, is a YA medieval story about a albino girl named Gisela. To go along with it, I've composed 11 original songs, like a soundtrack of sorts, combining my two loves of books and music.
Well, that is officially more than you ever cared to know about me. Thanks for reading! If you have questions, shoot me an email. I love hearing from people.

What is it like writing books and music?
Not that different actually. One tells a story with words. The other tells a story with notes. I love both!

"Writing is wretched, discouraging, physically unhealthy, infinitely frustrating work. And when it all comes together, it is utterly glorious." - Ralph Peters
Favorite music quotes?

Two fictional characters have been named after me (Rebecca Steed in The Work & the Glory series, and Becky Lloyd in The Alliance; my father's books). A few words are direct quotes of something embarrassing I've said—the joys of being an author's daughter. :)
I have perfect pitch.
I love puzzles and solving Rubik’s cubes of all sizes. Yep. I'm that nerdy.
