I started this arrangement 14 years ago. Not sure why it took me so long to finish, because I love how these two songs fit together. It's especially appropriate for Easter.
Jesus, once of humble birth, Now in glory comes to earth.
Once he suffered grief and pain; Now he comes on earth to reign. Now he comes on earth to reign.
Christ the Lord is ris’n today! Sons of men and angels say!
Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia!
Sing, ye heav’ns, and earth reply, Alleluia!
Once a meek and lowly Lamb, Now the Lord, the great I Am.
Once upon the cross he bowed; Now his chariot is the cloud. Now his chariot is the cloud.
Once forsaken, left alone, Now exalted to a throne.
Once all things he meekly bore, But he now will bear no more. But he now will bear no more.
Lives again our glorious King, Alleluia! Where, O death, is now thy sting? Alleluia!
Once he died our souls to save, Alleluia! Where thy victory, O grave? Alleluia!
Jesus once . . . Now a king . . . Now their King he shall be known.
