O Come, O Come Emmanuel - Rebecca Belliston
00:00 / 00:00

As I've been studying the New Testament this year and preparing for another trip to Israel, I felt drawn to the plea of this song, the plea of a lost people calling for redemption. In some ways, it feels more to me like a song pleading for the Savior's Second Coming. You might notice that my arrangement closely resembles my original piano solo "Jerusalem." I have plans to combine them. The piano solo sheet music is also included in For the Love of Christmas songbook.

O come, O come, Emmanuel, and ransom captive Israel,

That mourns in lonely exile here, until the Son of God appear.

Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel shall come to thee, O Israel.

O come, Thou Rod of Jesse, free thine own from Satan's tyranny.

O come, Thou Dayspring, from on high, and cheer us by Thy drawing nigh;

Disperse the gloomy clouds of night, and death's dark shadows put to flight.

Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel shall come to thee, O Israel.

O come, Adonai, Lord of might, who to Thy tribes, came unto Sinai's height,

O come, Thou Key of David, come and open wide our heav'nly home;

Make safe the way that leads on high, and close the path to misery.

Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel shall come to thee, O Israel!
