As I search through the scriptures, I know what is right. 

But I can’t help but listen to that inner quiet fright.

How can I learn to trust Thee in a world so insecure? 

How can I come to hear Thy voice when I call out in prayer?

As I see all around me I feel so much doubt. 

How can I remember all Thou hast told me about?

Oh, God help me see what great plan Thou hast for me. 

And are you there?

 

Where can I turn for peace? Where is my solace

When other sources cease to make me whole?

Where, when my aching grows, where, when I languish,

Who, who can understand? He, only One.

 

Now I read thru the scriptures, surrounded by peace.                    He answers privately,

And I know He is with me; how my soul has found relief!                    Reaches my reaching

I will trust in His promptings even when the doubt is there.                    In my Gethsemane,

And I know He will comfort me when I kneel down in prayer.                    Savior and Friend.

             I will teach those around me to listen and feel.                             Gentle the peace he finds

I can tell them all I’ve learned; that His answers are real.                    For my beseeching.

Oh God, I thank Thee for this plan Thou gavest to me.                    Constant he is and kind.

                             For He is there.                                                 Love without end.

             Oh God, are you really there for one like me?                    Who, who can understand?

Now I know that He’s really there.                    He, only One.
